Bhalessa NGO felicitated Krishan Kumar and eight others


With a view to provide access to the remote and dodgy areas of Jammu and Kashmir state, a Bhalessa based NGO National Students Welfare Association and  Bhalessa Heritage Centre organized a one day seminar  on History and culture of Bhalessa  at K L Sehgal Hall of J&K Academy of Art culture and Languages, wherein the eminent personalities, historians, writers, officials focused on the roots of the history of the area.
            It is pertinent to mention that Bhalessa  is known, not only for its rich cultural heritage and ethical values but also popular for its age-old traditions of secularism and the spirit of tolerance, which have been since times immemorial, binding the people together. The peaceful co-existence in this area has been possible only because of the observance in letter and spirit of these traditions which have since long been guiding the very destinies of the people professing varied faiths.
            The event aimed to bring together thought leaders, educational administrators,writers, officials of repute, students, teachers, prominent citizens to discuss issues that pledge our region with a hope this programme is meant to offer all of us a chance to open our hearts and minds. A type of future we want to give to our youth and next generations. 
Vateren Educationist and formerly Registrar, The Then J&K University was Presided over the function. Whereas, Mohammed Sharief Niaz, former Minister and MLA Bhaderwah was Chief Guest. K.K Bhat Regional Director IGNOU was guest of honour.
            At the veryoutset, a website on Bhalessa www.bhalessa.com hosted by NSWA was Inaugarated. The firt ever website on Bhalessa may help the currunt posterity and the people at international level to have access about Bhalessa’s heritage and culture. The website was launched by Abdul Aziz Batt former Registrar The then J&K University. The website covers Physical features, history, social, educational, and tourist canvas of Bhalessa. Bhalessa has still unexplored sites and one can access the tourism potential, geography, history though this website.
            In his welcome address, Sadaket Malik, Chairman NSWA and Bhalessa Heritage Centre asked for the preservation of age old traditions. He said that our culture is under permanent
threat that has been preserved by the then legendary people. He said that this as a disaster. He asked that our history and culture need to be revisited so that we can re-conserve it for the future generations to come.
            
            Meanwhile, the NGO felicitated  Krishan Kumar of Bhalessa who recently qualified IFS examination and eight others who make their victory in Combined competitive examination 2009 batch include, Yaseeen Wani, Irfan Majeed Malik, Mohd. Ashraf  Haroon Niak, Pervaiz Niak, Mohd. Iqbal, Shoket Ali Rather, Muzafar Rather, Dr. Jatinder Singh, Chander Kant, and others. These candidates belong to a remote Bhalessa and have made history in the state to enlighten the area by qualifying IFS and KAS examinations.  The NGO also awarded several activists and officials including Sub Divisional Megistrate Bhalessa, Shabeer Ahmed Keen and Sarfaraz Batt for outstanding performance in singing and representing Bhalessa at National level in Indore.
            In his Presidential address, Abdul Aziz Batt, Former Registrar, Jammu Unviersity, stressed the youth to conserve their culture and identity at gross root level. He focused on the history and experiences and works of great legendaries of Bhalessa, Ghulam Rasool Azad, Professor Omer Din, Ram Chand Parihar, Munshi Mohd. Anwer, and many others who put in efforts to conserve this culture at times when the education and information was scarce. Abdul Aziz Batt asked the youth to follow the path of these legendaries so that a prosperous Bhalessa can come out. He appreciated the NGO for organizing such events for harnessing the culture and civilization of Bhalessa.
