Traffic check posts (TCPs) in Gandoh, Kahara, Bhatyas, Donadi, Gowari, Chilly
belts of Bhalessa in order to avert these tragedies in these routes.
NSWA has expressed serious concern
over the routine accidents and lack of administrative intervention as there are
no vigil checks on drivers in these areas of Bhalesssa. Sadaket Malik Chairman
NSWA blamed that the administration has not learnt the lesson from the past
accidents. The association has said that
from last 13 years major accidents took place in Bhalessa, on June 6, 2000, At
least 11 people were feared dead and 15 others injured as a bus rolled down a
road and fell into a gorge at Manoi Bhatyas. In 17 January 2009, At least 11

at Manoi Gandoh. On June 4, 2011, In a tragic accident in the mountainous Doda
district, six persons including a minor girl were killed when a Tata Sumo

injured, when the Tata Sumo they were travelling in skidded off the road and
plunged into a gorge near Gandoh. Very recently, a Tempo Traveller plunged to

Besides the above figures, there is
a routine of accidents every month, several precious lives are lost but nothing
more than condoling the deaths and expressing shocks and grief were done by
government and any authority. Regrettably no one tried to look into the root
cause of accidents and came out with a plan or suggestion to decrease the
frequency of accidents.
The association has submitted its
report to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), President of India,
Union Ministry of Roadways. The association has requested early opening on
Traffic check Points in Bhalessa valley.
